NEWS 13 February 2007 OMBUDSMAN CONDUCTS MONITORING OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS AT FERGHANA VALLEY ENTERPRISES Uzbekistan Parliament’s ombudsman conducted a monitoring of observance of women’s rights at light industry enterprises in Ferghana valley. The monitoring was implemented jointly with the Women’s Committee, Labor Unions Federation Council, justice, labor and health ministries and General Prosecutor’s Office in September 2006, and its results were presented last week in Tashkent. Eighteen cotton fiber processing enterprises of Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regions were monitored, ombudsman Sayora Rashidova said.
