NEWS 12 July 2007 LIFE EXPECTANCY OF MEN 11 YEARS LESS THAN OF WOMEN IN KAZAKHSTAN In Kazakhstan life expectancy of men is 11 years less than of women; average life expectancy of men - 61,56 years, women - 72,52 years. The acting executive representative of the UN Fund for Population in Kazakhstan Meruert Rakhimova stated at the press conference Population and Problems of Death Rate of Men in Kazakhstan devoted to the World Day of Population. The experts have informed that death rate of men is caused by a set of various factors. In particular, the deputy Director of the National Center of Healthy Lifestyle Tatyana Slazhneva explained that "as a rule, these are working conditions of men occupied in the spheres of high risk for life, including stressful situations, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, tobacco smoking, inadequate diet, and low physical activity. According to the opinion of the deputy Director of the National Center to solve the problem it is necessary to create the uniform program "Population, which would connect processes of birth rate and death rate."
