WOMEN CAN MAKE GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO SOLUTION OF GLOBAL PROBLEMS, SAYS FIRST LADY OF AZERBAIJAN

Woman can make a great contribution to the solution of global problems, said the congratulation letter of Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan and good-will ambassador of UNESCO, addressed to the participants of international conference on "Role of Women Politicians in New Security Environment".

“The current threats all over the world compels world to think deeply once again and to worry about future. Women who are also key creators of human culture, protect what they have created by their motherly feelings,” said the letter by Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan.

Mehriban Aliyeva described get-together of women politicians from various regions throughout the world as a necessity originated by global problems.

“We believe that such conferences will be further held in many countries all over the world and will contribute greatly to solution of global problems and establishment of peace, stability and sustainable development all over the world,” the letter said.

“Though women politicians are involved in the establishment of peace and stability in the third millennium, we wish their potential were used in a proper way in a new security environment. Regardless race and nationality, the women all over the world have a common wish – eternal peace across the world. Conflicts in different regions of the world have displaced millions of people from their homes. Unfortunately, women and children comprise 80% of refugees and IDPs,” said the letter.

Representatives from Turkey, Norway, Kazakhstan and Georgia are taking part in the international conference organized by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Kazinform quotes TrendNews.
