SUCCESS OF KAZAKHSTAN IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN: FORUM IN ASTANA

Congress of Working Women of Kazakhstan Growth and prosperity of Kazakhstan are impossible without active participation of women has started its work today in Astana. Deputy Head of Presidential Administration Maulen Ashimbayev addressed a greeting of Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Congress delegates. Kazakh Leader highly appreciates contribution of Kazakhstan women into the process of gaining of independence.

Kazakh women make great impact into development of Kazakhstan’s life. Even in the most difficult years for Kazakhstan our women showed courage and firmness and did all their best for Kazakhstan’s prosperity. They are well-educated, energetic and initiative. From year to year they actively participate in socio-political life of Kazakhstan and assist in democratic transformation, stated in the greeting.

WOMEN’S CONGRESS TAKES PLACE ON THE EVE OF THE 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE COUNTRY’S INDEPENDENCE

The first Congress of the Working Women of Kazakhstan takes place the year when the country marks 15th anniversary of its independence, Aitkul Samakova, the Head of National Family Affairs and Gender Policy Commission under the President of Kazakhstan, said.

Women of Kazakhstan believed in and supported the President for the hard years of formation of independence. Much work has been done for those years, many social problems have been solved, but the foremost is that the country implemented sweeping political and economic reforms, created new market mechanisms. And Kazakhstan women’s merit is great as well, Samakova noted.

FIRST CONGRESS OF WORKING WOMEN STARTED ITS WORK

Today in Astana has started its work the first Congress of Working Women of Kazakhstan, involving 370 delegates from the countrywide. Those attending highlighted invaluable contribution of working women, mothers to further advanced socio-economic growth of the country, state’s heightened attention to socio-economic protection of women, maternity and childhood’s legal and social support.

The delegates consider it is crucial to speed up adoption of the law On equal rights and equal opportunities of women and men, ratify ILO convention concerning gender equality.
