ASTANA TO HOST II EURASIAN WOMEN SUMMIT

II Eurasian Women Summit is to be held in Rixos Presidential Hotel in Astana on June 25-26, 2008, Kazinform cites KZ Businesswomen Association’s press service.

The first summit was organized in 2006 and gathered delegates from 20 countries of the world. The upcoming II Eurasian Women Summit will take place on the eve of Astana’s 10th anniversary. More than 400 women are believed to participate in the event, including leaders of public, political and business circles of Kazakhstan, Russia, the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and others.

UN Deputy Secretary General on Gender policy and Advancement of Women Rachel Mayanja, Chairman of the Fund of the 1st Kazakh President Dariga Nazarbayeva, Bundestag deputy Wegener Hedi, Presidents of the Businesswomen Associations of Latvia and Uzbekistan Irina Petersone and Dildor alimbekov are expected to take part in the work of the summit.

Several events will be organized within the frame of the summit, like “Progress through interaction” international conference, parade of leaders, master classes and etc.
