KAZAKHSTAN DELEGATION PARTICIPATES IN UN CSW SESSION

The 50th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is currently underway in New York. A delegation of the National Commission of RK on Family and Gender Equality including representatives of the parliament, the presidential administration, and the MFA of RK.

Madina Djarbusynova, head of delegation - ambassador of RK for special missions, speaking at a plenary meeting and at the "round tables" informed the session participants about the socioeconomic achievements of the republic and about main provision of the last presidential Address to the Nation as of 1 March 2006. "Special interest was shown in issues of socioeconomic modernisation and political democratisation, in particular, tasks of the modern social policy aiming at accession of Kazakhstan to the world's top 50 competitive countries," - the MFA observed. Kazakhstan has been the CSW member as from 1 January 2004.
